
The Digital Music Showcase highlights talented students from across the state who create music using technology, digital audio workstations (DAWs), and digital media. Students from K–12 through university levels are invited to submit work in one of three categories: Full Songs, Instrumentals, and Mixed Media (music combined with video).
Showcase Guidelines and Regulations
Eligibility
- Open to students in grades K–College
- The sponsoring teacher must be an AMEA member
General Requirements
- All submissions must be created and produced in a Digital Audio Workstation (DAW)
- For the Mixed Media category, live recordings combined with video editing are accepted
- Length: 1.5–3 minutes (specific categories may allow up to 5 minutes)
- Selected works will be featured at the 2026 AMEA Conference (attendance encouraged)
- Songs will be evaluated by music educators and music industry professionals
Submission Categories
Instrumentals
- Submit original music created and tracked in a DAW
- May include short vocal samples, but tracks should be primarily instrumental
- If vocals are a major feature, the entry will be placed in the Full Songs category
- All music must be original and created using Real Time or Step Entry in the DAW
- Length: 1.5–3 minutes
- Format: .mp3 or .wav
Full Songs
- Original compositions for any combination of electronic instruments, acoustic instruments, and/or voices, produced using a DAW
- All musical content must be originally created or produced by the entrant
- Length: 1.5–3 minutes
- Format: .mp3 or .wav
Mixed Media
- Combines music with video; cover songs are also permitted
- Must include video editing (static, unedited footage will not be accepted)
- May include synchronized music, sound effects, and video elements (new or existing footage)
- Length: up to 3 minutes
- Format: video file
Judging Divisions
- Division 1: Elementary (K–5)
- Division 2: Middle (6–8)
- Division 3: High School (9–12)
- Division 4: College
Deadline
December 1, 2025
All submissions must be received by this date for full consideration.

This is not a competition, it is a showcase. The goal is to feature as many students with quality music as possible.
