Music In Our Schools Month

Join us in celebrating Music In Our Schools Month this March! The Alabama Music Educators Association is proud to highlight the power of music education in shaping young minds and enriching our communities. Check out this video and see why every child deserves the joy of music!

Weekly Challenges

We would be delighted if you would join our weekly challenges to raise awareness about the significance of music education in our schools. Simply use the prompts below to FaceBook/Instagram each week using the hashtag #Ala4MusicEd. Then click the buttons below to see what others are posting.

Week 1

Teachers: share a picture from your classroom of your students in action – making music, learning, and having fun! Post it to Facebook or Instagram with the hashtag #ala4musiced. Let’s celebrate the joy of music education together!

We can’t wait to see your posts! 🎶

Week 2

  • Student Interns: Post a video explaining why you want to be a music teacher.
  • Teachers: Post a picture of you and your intern.

Week 3

Practicing music educators; post a picture of you teaching your classes or directing your ensembles for this week’s posting. We want to see your best in action music shot. Remember to use the hashtag #ala4musiced.

Week 4

This week we want to highlight those who paved the way for current music educators, our retired music educators. If you are a retired music educator, we encourage you to post pictures of yourself in the early days of your career and post what you’re doing in retirement. If one, or more of your students, have become music educators, post a picture with them as well. What words of wisdom would you have for young and mid-career music educators? Be sure to use the hashtag #ala4musiced.
