The Alabama Music Educators Association (AMEA) warmly invites submissions for our 2025 conference. To ensure the highest standards of quality and relevance for our sessions, we have outlined a comprehensive rubric and set of conditions for proposal evaluation. This document will guide you through the criteria, process, and conditions involved in submitting your proposal.

Submission Process

Please submit your proposals through our designated form, ensuring adherence to the following guidelines and conditions. Every proposal should include a proposed Session Title, Learning Objectives and Session Description. Note that all Alabama music educators wishing to present must be AMEA/NAfME members by November 1, preceding the Professional Development Conference.

Reviewer Instructions

Proposals will be evaluated based on Quality, Relevance, Interactive elements, and Application to teaching, using the following scale:

  • 3 – Average
  • 4 – Poor

Evaluation Criteria

• • Quality: Assess the proposal’s clarity, organization, and learning objectives.
  • Relevance: Evaluate instructional impact and connection to Alabama Music Education Standards.
  • Interactive: Consider elements like performing, creating, responding, and assessing.
  • Application: Assess applicability across various educational settings in Alabama.

Overall Impression

Rate the proposal overall, and provide specific feedback to help improve future submissions.

Conditions for Submission

Before submitting your proposal, please review the following conditions carefully:

1. 1. Primary Clinician Submission: The proposal must be submitted by the individual who will serve as the primary clinician.
   2. AMEA Membership: The primary presenter must be a current AMEA member at the time of submission. All Alabama Music Educators must join AMEA/NAfME by November 1 before the conference.
   3. Honoraria and Expenses: AMEA does not provide honoraria or cover expenses for member presenters.
   4. Scheduling: Specific time slot requests cannot be accommodated. Submitting a proposal indicates acceptance of the assigned schedule.
   5. Session Acceptance: If accepted, the primary clinician is responsible for communicating all details to co-participants.
   6. Out-of-State Presenters: Those from outside Alabama will receive complimentary conference registration.
