Ken Berg – 2021

Ken Berg was born in 1955 and is a native of the Virginia/North Carolina region. In 1977, he graduated from Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama with a BME in 1977. For 28 years, Ken was the Director of Choirs and Fine Arts Chairman at John Carroll Catholic High School in Birmingham. He retired in 2005 to become the Music Minister and Resident Composer at Mountain Brook Baptist Church In 2011, Ken retired from church work to become the first full-time Music Director and Resident Composer for the Birmingham Boys Choir, having been part-time with them since 1978.

Ken has served as a state and Southern Division officer with the American Choral Directors Association and has also served on the Training Courses Committee of the Royal School of Church Music in America. In addition to touring extensively throughout Europe, Japan and North America, his choirs have sung at ACDA, OAKE and MENC State, Division and National Conventions. Ken often serves as clinician and adjudicator throughout the U.S. His music is published with Alfred Music, Bella Voce Press, Cart Fischer, Choristers Guild, Colla Voce, Emerson Music, Hal Leonard, Hinshaw Music, Kjos Music, Morning Star Music, National Music Publishers, Pavane Music, Santa Barbara Music Publishers and Walton Music.
